Moshimo Skylight restaurant

The decision to give planning approval to the Moshimo Skylight restaurant is one of the worst planning decisions in recent years.

This is no ordinary site – it is in the Old Town Conservation Area, recently declared ‘under threat’ by Historic England and for which a recently prepared Character Statement designed to protect the Old Town’s existing character is currently out for public consultation.

The Council’s own Conservation Advisory Group (CAG) unanimously agreed to recommend refusal for this appallingly overbearing scheme. Councils have a legal duty to preserve and enhance Conservation Areas from unsympathetic developments. In spite of all these considerations, our Council has failed miserably to do so in this case. It should be ashamed of itself.

Yours faithfully,
