This is no ordinary site – it is in the Old Town Conservation Area, recently declared ‘under threat’ by Historic England and for which a recently prepared Character Statement designed to protect the Old Town’s existing character is currently out for public consultation.
The Council’s own Conservation Advisory Group (CAG) unanimously agreed to recommend refusal for this appallingly overbearing scheme.
