THE ENGLISH SPEAKING UNION : BRIGHTON, HOVE AND DISTRICT BRANCH

Lecture meetings of the English Speaking Union are held at the Hove Club 28 Fourth Avenue Hove (opposite Hove Town Hall). Visitors are welcome at all meetings (a donation is normally expected). Refreshments are available before the meetings. Brighton Society members welcome.

A STUDY DAY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PAVILION AND ITS GROUNDS
The six speakers include: Professor David Watkin on Henry Holland, Dr Geoffrey Tyack on Porden and Nash, and Megan Aldridge on the Crace family and their work on the interior. Venue the Old Court Lecture Theatre in Church Road, Brighton. Fee £40 (including refreshments in the morning and afternoon breaks) payable to the Friends of the Royal Pavilion. There is a ramped entrance and a hearing loop, the theatre has raked seating, but only holds 140 people.
